The mission of New Horizons Crisis Stabilization House is to stabilize and promote recovery and rehabilitation in the shortest possible time of persons experiencing an acute mental or emotional crisis characterized by a psychotic episode or a high level of mental or emotional distress which may be precipitated by a traumatic event or a perceived life problem for which the individual’s typical coping strategies are inadequate; to avert their inpatient hospitalization or re-hospitalization; and to transition them back to a residential and living environment that is at least as safe and independent as existed for them prior to the event that resulted in the crisis.

We aim to be a center of excellence and the Nation’s premier crisis stabilization facility by continuously innovating our programs and services based on new thinking and research in behavioral healthcare.
